Supplemental Day Services
Small Group Day Services

A wide variety of activities are offered to small groups of individuals who share common interests. Depending on group size, one or more Staff Members assist individuals in the exploration of life skills, social and vocational opportunities. Typically this involves individuals working together toward a common goal. Activities may include cooking, community based recreational activities, going out to eat, shopping or sharing the tasks necessary to complete a complex job. The objective is to provide individuals with meaningful and safe activities that foster skill development while encouraging social interaction.
Intensive Day Service
One on one services are offered to individuals who have difficulty participating in group activities. Individuals are matched with professional Staff members with skills and personality traits that would best serve each individual’s unique needs. Individualized service plans are developed by a team of professionals to establish daily activities that promote skill development while fostering appropriate social interaction. Staff members are encouraged to become creative in discovering activities that are of interest to each individual. Some activities may include exercise, working on specific jobs, listening to music, shopping or community exploration. If needed, individuals also receive assistance with personal care and medical management.
Personal Care

Assistance is offered to individuals who have difficulty with personal care issues. Services include assistance with eating, mobility and bathroom-related needs. Services are offered by skilled and caring Staff who treat each individual with dignity and respect.
Medical Management
Individuals participating in NHC programs may require assistance with specific medical issues. Assessing the need for assistance is a part of each individual's ongoing service plan. In many cases this may require monitoring or assisting with administration of medication. Staff members may also be trained in G-tube feeding and have become involved in assisting individuals with other medically related needs.
